Music & Drama Camp 2017 – Survivor Babylon

This is a great opportunity for kids to get together and learn some life-long skills of performance and presentation, and to have fun while doing it!  But far more important is the fact that they learn the joy of serving God in worship, and the privilege of teaching others of His great love and mercy for us.  Worship and music are eternal activities which God allows us to enjoy during our time on earth…and to draw us to Himself.  The musicals we learn here have a long-lasting impact on the participants as well as those who see the final presentation.  As the minister of music here at FRBC, I find that I am most blessed of all to be able to shepherd these kids and teach them the ways of God through singing, acting, dancing, and joyful noise-making!  Please prayerfully consider encouraging your child(ren) to participate.  Blessings!

Attendance will be very important.  It is difficult to go back and re-teach the same material when children miss a session  –  particularly when we learn so much each day.  Also, I have a great deal of fun with the kids, but showing respect to me, other kids, and God is expected from the children who are in the musical.  Most of the major speaking parts will be given to the oldest children, but I always make sure that any child that desires a speaking part will have at least a chance to get the microphone in their hands for a line or two!

If you have a child who would like a larger speaking role, it is vital that I meet with them for just a few minutes prior to July 1st so that I can hear them read for a part.  I will be assigning the major roles prior to camp, so that the principal actors can learn their lines prior to camp.
